Captain Christal R. Miles is an Assistant Professor of Military Aerospace Studies and the Education Officer for the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC), Detachment 020, University of Arizona, Tucson, Ariz. In this capacity, she is responsible for the development and military training of 150 officer candiates. As an Assistant Professor of Military Aerospace Studies, she provides instruction in foundational leadership concepts, effective communication, teamwork, and the profession of arms.

 

Capt Miles enlisted in the Air Force in February 2006 as a Ground Radio Communication Apprentice. During her enlisted career, Capt Miles held various duty titles such as Satellite Communications Supervisor, Deployed A6, and multiple positions as Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge. Her assignments include bases throughout the United States, South Korea and Germany. She has deployed in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and INHERENT RESOLVE. Capt Miles commissioned through Officer Training School in March 2019. Prior to her current position, she was the Communications Flight Commander, Persistent Attack and Reconnaissance Operations Center (PAROC), 25th Attack Wing Detachment 1, Creech Air Force Base, Nev.
